April 21- 29 is this year’s national park week, where all 397 national parks offer free admission. Despite that I was seriously sick all week and not wanting to move at all, at 11 am that morning, Hero grabbed me and said: “Let’s go to Yosemite! Right now!” So in a snap, I packed my camera and tripod, which seems the only two things I ever really care to pack, and jumped onto the passenger seat.

Around 7 pm, photographers gathered at Glacier Point, mounted the tripods, geared up with all kinds of equipment, waiting to capture Half Dome lit in the sunset. I was one of them. At first, I wasn’t sure what exactly I was looking for, besides knowing the fact that there would be some exciting moments. As the sun slowly went down, the shadow moved upward toward the highest point of the dome. Right before the entire dome was almost swallowed by the dark shadow, there came the magical moment: Half Dome gets the sunset kiss goodbye.
